Jeanie Marie Buss has been an American businesswoman for more than 20 years. She is the owner of control of the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association and currently acts as the association's president. Buss is a native of California, grew up with an impressive family background. The father of her Jerry Buss was a real-estate tycoon who later became the owner of the Lakers and other sports businesses. When her parents broke up in 1972, she was convinced that they had abandoned her. In 1972, at age 19, she was employed in the family business. In the following years, she created the Los Angeles Blades roller hockey professional team. The position she held was President of Great Western Forum prior to becoming the vice-president of Lakers.
